Hi all,

So I have put quite a bit of time into compiling a fairly comprehensive analysis of crowdfunding card games via Kicksstarter and wanted to share my research with all of you who are interested in self-publishing, games, and what it takes to run a successful Kickstarter campaign.

Please let me know what you think of this report as if enough people find it enjoyable/ useful, I will continue to publish these.

Feel free to provide input via this forum or via the survey I created:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8SYBMP2

Here is just a snippet of the report to get an idea of what is included:

Did you compare the duration

Did you compare the duration of card game kickstarters to other general kickstarters? Kickstarter recommends a 30 day campaign in general.

Hi all, Don't know how that

Hi all,

Don't know how that link was broken, but maybe try this one instead:
https://bearpeakgamesdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/card-game-pwpt1.pdf

And I did not compare this niche category to other KS campaigns overall. This is primarily because I could not locate much research on other KS areas, but if these exist, please let me know and I can consider analyzing this going forward.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks

Thanks for putting such a comprehensive analysis across. I believe it is pretty helpful to a no.of new designers as well as oldies who can definitely learn a thing or two to optimise and plan their next campaign.

great stuff

Really nice report you have done. I have just quickly looked it through.

Maybe its in there - but it does not seem you look very much on failed projects. Like % that succeed would be interesting to know (success vs goal, success vs first time creators, succes vs timing, success vs delivery etc). The report just show what the majority is doing :)

But still a very nice analysis you have done.

Nice!

Finished reading the report and did the survey. That's a really nice report and had all the information I have been looking for lately. Makes me hopeful as I work on my own card game.

Best,
-Jonathan
