It's been a while since I've posted but I just wanted to share the good news that my game Fossilis is heading to Kickstarter on October 15. It's being published by Kids Table Board Gaming.

Any designers out there who have participated in a Kickstarter for their game have any advice? i"m really excited to finally be on the other side of it.

Gabe's podcast and forums like this one have been a great resource since I started designing. It's great to see it all pay off this way.

Here's a link to the announcement by KTBG. If you are into family games and dinosaurs I hope you check it out in October.

You can send a link to the KS

You can send a link to the KS preview.. I'd be happy to take a look, and maybe some others here would as well.

I assume you've read Jamey Stegmaier's stuff.. if not, get to it.

Edit: Are you doing this KS, or is it being done entirely by the publisher? I assume they have a mailing list built up, which is a big selling point of having a publisher for a KS game :)

Yeah it's the publisher that

Yeah it's the publisher that is handling the KS thank God. But thanks for the offer. I new early on when I started designing that I just wanted to design games and get them signed. Jamey's blogs convinced me of that. I just don't have the time to self publish. It's been great developing the game along with KTBG. They really helped make the game the best it could be. As far as the Kickstarter goes, I'll just be contributing wherever I can like being active in the comments and they want me to write up a brief development journal. Just wanted to know what other things people have done to get the word out for their own game.

Well, once you disallow marketing dollars, it's just the obvious.. facebook and instagram posts :)

I try and keep a decent

I try and keep a decent presence on Twitter. Haven't done Instagram or Facebook though. My publisher does though. I was contemplating bringing some postcards to FLGS's around Toronto to advertise. Not sure how effective that kind of thing is. Good thing is KTBG will be at Essen during the campaign so hopefully they can reach a lot of people there.

Kids Table Board Games/Burnt Island Games has a LOT of Kickstarter experience, so they know what they're doing and have a huge following.

Zero doubt that this will hit a home run and be funded in no time.
