Some of you who have been around the BGDF for a long time may remember me - I used to be a lot more vocal in these forums. You may also remember my sort of flagship game Terra Prime, about colonizing planets...

Well, as some of you may have heard, a new company (Tasty Minstrel Games) was started by Michael Mindes (DrMayhem), and TMG is publishing Terra Prime!

There has been a BGG entry for Terra Prime since 2006, but now the entry is more complete, including publisher information, final awesome cover art by Josh Cappel (OutsideLime), and as soon as they approve it, the final rulebook as well.

So go check it out! Feel free (but not pressured) to leave comments, post questions, thumb things... wahtever :)

There's a little surprise on the back of the box (not posted on BGG at this time) as well, which loyal BGDF members might appreciate. Without the BGDF community, there would be no Terra Prime!

Cool

The box looks like an Attari 2600 game. It also looks like a blast.

Awesome! I hope you like it when you get a chance to try it. You too Dralius.

For the record, the rulebook was approved by the BGG admins and is now up.

Could be worse. Could have been "Admirable Jaffee"!

Love the box, love the rules, now when do I get the game? [jumping up and down with impatience and excitement]

Well, we're supposed to see proofs in like 2 weeks, and when they get approved I suspect 2 more months to manufacture and ship the games (to PSI's Warehouse)? My guess is that they'll get to the warehouse sometime in October and will be in stores +/- November.

Really I just hope we get some copies sent to us in time for BGG.con, where we intend to have some launch events and a booth.

Slight correction... Once I have approved the proofs, then Tasty Minstrel Games will unleash the press release which will allow us to sell out the entire first print run on the pre-order. Here is a hint, there will be free shipping and a portion of the proceeds will be going to charity...

Logistically, anybody who pre-orders will get their copies significantly earlier than stores. The reason being that the shipment will clear customs at Port of Los Angeles (or long beach). Pre-orders will be routed to Tucson, Arizona; where they will be promptly packed and re-shipped. Any remaining copies will be sent to Georgia where PSI is. Then PSI will ship to distributors, then distributors will ship to stores.

So my recommendation... Buy on the pre-order. It helps Tasty Minstrel Games, will help a charity, plus you will get your copies MUCH faster.

Been following your rollout

Been following your rollout of Terra Prime and Homesteaders ... both the BGG contest and the video blog with the gameplay samples.

Good luck with everything -- it's a real treat watching you get this all launched.

Here's to lots of sales!

Pre-ordered!

Tasty Minstrel Games now has Terra Prime and Alex's Homesteaders available for pre-order. I just ordered both, for a total of $44.95 including shipping. I played Terra Prime several times during its development, so I know I'll enjoy that one. I haven't played Homesteaders, but I've read the rules and it looks like fun too.

Here's a link to the publisher's blog, which has a video demo of the two games. (I haven't watched the video yet.) If you want to pre-order, scroll down below the video to find a "Buy Now" button:

There's also a contest at BGG to win copies of both games:
