You are right about that.

You are right about that. I'll post a card comp in a while that will show how much cleaner the new cards are going to look.

Card Layout

Here's the new card layout prototype.

Fighter Ability/Stats have been removed (They are now found on the 2nd card that tracks your life total (Chi). The Pivot Icons have been reduced to red dots to de-emphasize them and the Block Zones are now the only other element that covers the art. I dropped the oriental styles and fonts for a more modern edgy look.

They look great

The larger frame works really well and the art style itself is a ton better.

It's decidedly more comic book style and less "realistic" - I'm in favor of that. (I'm reminded of McFarlane Spider-Man tbh)

The only thing I'm wary about now are the block zones - are they too subtle now? How do cards look together when they're interacting on the table?

the "impact splashes"(sry i

the "impact splashes"(sry i dunno what they are called) where your numbers are worked in the old layout, but since your new layout is more "classy" for lack of a better descriptor, i think the "impact splashes" should be left out aswell. instead, mere circles might do a better job

im not sure if those 4 dots in the middle of the picture mean anything, but if they do represent something, they aren't prominant enough, i almost completely ignored them on my first glance. sadly i do not have a solution to this, if it is a problem at all, IMO if they contain no information they should be taken out altogether.

MikeyNG: I'll have to upload

MikeyNG: I'll have to upload some photos of the cards on the table. Good thought.

laperen: The Strike Zones (Bursts) could be cleaned up, maybe less cartoony. I'll have to think about whether or not to go with circles or some hybrid of the two.

The dots are the Pivot Points that you can rotate your card on when moving and attacking. I'll have to boost their prominence.
