Online courses in game design?

I'd like to take an online college-level course in game design (or more than one), and I know such things exist, but which is right for me?

- ideally it would be from an accredited college so I could also have some college credits to show for it
- would be more focused on board games and card games
- I do know a little bit about programming and would also be interested in learning more about developing casual Flash or HTML games, but am not really interested in video games
- I find I learn best from the video lecture model such as Coursera uses

I would appreciate any recommendations!

I teach game design at Art

I teach game design at Art Institute, but I do not teach online. I have taken courses online in game design, but your best bet would be somewhere like Academy of Art.

Unfortunately, I don't know of many places that just teach game design courses unless you're in a program or track, much less online. You might need to commit to an enrollment.

To be honest, there's something a little greater to be learned in a traditional classroom setting. There's the social interacting, discussion, and the physical demonstrations (I teach and supervise my students in playing gamesI bring in) that an online class just can't convey (believe me, I've done both).

I hope this helps.
