Hi:

We're launching www.boardgamesnow.com in November.

-- It will be moderated, all designs reviewed before being posted.

-- It will be Print-N-Play for any boardgame topic. Not role-playing, just the best board games.

-- The most popular games will also be published as a bona-fide boardgame, via an integrated pre-order system.

-- If you bought a PDF download, you'll get a discount on the published version.

-- Featuring "just-in-time" game manufacturing in the US - you order it, we make it and ship it, you play it.

-- Games can be exclusive or non-exclusive to the site.

We could use your help to make the launch of the site successful by providing us one or two of your PNP designs. Submission guidelines coming in early October. For offline conversations contact boardgamesnow@bluepantherllc.com

Onboard with this idea

As a previous Protospiel attendee, I have known about this for about a week now. I was initially skeptical of PnP, but with the added component of an integrated pre-order system and the non-requirement of exclusivity, I am warming up to the idea.

Hence that is why I am all of a sudden looking for royalty-free clip art. That is likely my only hang-up right now before I can submit a design.

I think this is a great opportunity for all of us here at BGDF and I applaud Steve for his efforts in getting this going.

Adjust the name?

Board_Game_Snow may not be the target you want, but is what many have been reading as the name. Cocaine dust in trails across games?

Cool!

I am glad to hear that another P&P web site has been born. But also the fact that it posses a few other options is also interesting. I'll have to check the details.

Most P&P web site use this rule. So you are not limited to 1 web site when submitting.

Unfortunately, I don't have a game ready yet to submit.

Moderation

This looks nice.

I think Flatpackgames.com got bogged down somewhat in the moderation component. Seems like we worried about "playing everything" (I may be misremembering). But if you're going to charge for downloads, you really don't need to. You need a small, core vetting team focused on quality, weeding out submissions that can't pass the first two "gut-checks" involving graphics/layout and a rulebook read-through (most submissions, probably).

Just out of curiosity, what is your plan for moderation?
