Hello, fellow gamers! This post is a shameless attempt to get pledges for our Kickstarter project, “Proto-Typical.” This charmingly sardonic, non-collectible card game needs only the card art, red tape and production fees financed. The goal is $8,000, and there are already over $1,000 pledged. With less than a week and a half to go, please pledge at Kickstarter if this is the kind of game you'd enjoy playing. Check out the links below for the Kickstarter site, the official site and a free download of the rules and playable beta (without any art). While it is non-collectible, the production costs will be low since the only components to the finished product will be the box, cards and rule sheet. There are no dice or other paraphernalia required (like “Empyrian Inc.”). Also each card is entirely unique, so there will be no duplicate cards or images.

Thank you for your time,
Grant “Crafty” Sarber (illustrator)

Thank you oh-Cogent-one! It's nice to meet you too, however I am reticent to accept your accolades. The "cheesy grin" came with my face, you see, so I can hardly take credit.

Hi Crafty,

I'm curious, have you completely factored in the manufacturing costs and other costs? I guess what I'm getting at is have you secured pricing on the first run from a printer?

I think it's a cool concept and I hope you have luck with it. I may even kick a few bucks over ;)

Hello, Zipplock, and thanks

Hello, Zipplock, and thanks for the question as well as your interest! Yes, we looked at all of the publishing options and settled on using print-on-demand. TheGameCrafter.com would handle the transactions, printing and shipping. Their product cost calculator said the game would cost around $15 to print, so we were going to sell it for $20-$25 once it's complete.

They will handle transactions and shipping at no extra cost?

How much taxes are you going to pay? Relative to «your» sell price or will you pay the extra taxes relative to the extra payment of the shipping costs?

How are you going to promote the game?
