I'm new (surprise!)

Greetings!

I'm new here and just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I, like many others I've noticed here, have several designs in various stages of "doneness". I happened upon this site earlier today actually and thought that this would be a valuable resource and meeting point of new and fun ideas, so I signed up and here I be.

Hi folks

As many others who have written in this thread, I'm a new guy on the block, saying hi!

I have dabbled in gaming for 20+ years starting out with quite a bit of chess at the age of 7ish, and proceeding from there. I've arranged conventions, and participated in them. Having done so I've tweaked games many, many times over the years. None the less I've just started dabbling with producing my own game, early this year, and that has obviously sparked a lot of ideas that I couldn't fit in, and am now saving for other projects (two more in mind).

I'm really committed to making an effort in getting the first game published some time in 2012, if I succeed time will tell :)

It is a soccer/football board game with 7 man team a side, with a simple mechanic of taking turns moving one player at a time (constant involvement), but not the same twice in a row (spreads out the game on the board). It is designed to be playable with a chess clock (free smart phone apps exist, but if I ever get so far, a customized one might be worthwhile developing!). The chess clock is in my opinion a great little addition that gives the game both adrenaline, forces mistakes to some degree, and allows a full game to be played in 30minutes. I'm aiming it at being accessible to roughly 10 year olds, why I've limited myself dramatically in complexity, and made a personal goal of presenting the rules on just one piece of paper (both sides, but hopefully only one for all the basics).

By the way I live in Copenhagen, Denmark :)

Greetings Asger!

A chess clock is a great idea to take any game into a different meta-game level, nice to hear of you upcoming game making the most of it :)

I wish you all the best buddy, make sure you let us know your progress!

From out of the shadows...

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking around here on and off for the past few years (?! it doesn't seem that long) and as I've finally started to move forward on making physical, playable, real-world versions of my game ideas, I thought I'd sign up and get in the conversation.

I've been very impressed by everyone's enthusiasm and civility here (rare combination) and I will probably be hitting everyone up for ideas, adjustments... everything from broad strokes to fine-tuning. I hope I can be of help to you guys as well!

Clever sign-off,
AndyGB
