I've gotten to 1/3rd of the First Book "Foundation" of the Isaac Asimov "Foundation" Series of Novels. This is of course after watching the series on Apple TV+ ... Which I received as a SHARED Christmas Gift. Shared because Apple allows up to 4 connections to 1 account and therefore I have 1 Connection for my iPad and my Cousin has 2 Connection for their TVs. She gave me (or asked if I would be willing to share and if that was okay as a Christmas gift) the Apple TV+ service and I am grateful. Also they shared their Bell FIBE connectivity which means that I also have a shared connection to Television (except for the 4 USA Networks: ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX) for some reason those don't work over the Internet...
Some kind of PRIVACY and can ONLY be viewed when AT HOME! TBD.
Anyhow the SERIES uses the NAMES of many characters in the BOOKS but often in a bastardized way. Gaal in the series is a young woman and so is Salvor Hardin (another female character too...) In the BOOKS they are both MEN and it mentions nothing about people of color. I guess they wanted the SERIES to be a bit edgier. TBH I prefer the BOOKS because the story feel more REAL. The SERIES goes back and forth in time with the Empire of Cleon and cloning, etc. etc. Which is a MAJOR part of the SERIES... In the BOOKS there is NONE of that non-sense.
Anyways... If someone is looking for something to READ. I'd recommend the BOOKS... I paid about $75 CAD for 3 Books (so $25 CAD per book). You can get it now on Amazon.com for about $23 USD (WOW that is a real AMAZING DEAL):

Like I said if you want a QUALITY read... The books are super EASY to read. A Chapter lasts like 3 to 4 pages and on to the next. FAST READING and the storytelling is pretty decent too. That's an AMAZING Price too!

Since they want their "Characters" to continue from one season to the next, they must focus on finding ways to ADD longevity to them. And this means finding a way to allow Hari Seldon to live long after death, for Gaal Dornick for her to survive epochs and prevent aging, etc. etc.
This means that the ROLES are more important and take precedence over the reality of the Foundation Novels.
The one place where they seem to stick with is the NAMES of characters even if their timeline, purpose or even depiction (like Gaal and Salvor Hardin - which are both Females in the series but Males in the novels) is different.
This is neither good or bad (change of sexes) but preserving the Characters for a period LONGER than supported in the Novels is rather a greater hurdle to overcome... For certain!
Anyhow I enjoy the Novels better than the series on Apple TV+. The books don't try to make things work... They just continue from one part to another and don't have the need to FIX things so that they make sense. In the books it's just a question of multiple lifespans and natural death and progression.
In the series it's a riga-ma-roll to make things make SENSE...
Note #1: And the Cleonic Dynasty is not a part of the Novels either. The whole CLONING: Dusk, Day, Dawn and Darkness... Are pure BS in the TV series. Same goes for Demerzel (Android) which has nothing to do with the characters and depiction of the Novels.
Just some BAD ideas... And how they intolerate life is NOT good either.
