For those who want to think about playing some "Good Old Games" which is the name of the website BTW: https://www.gog.com

You can get up to 75% off many Video Games. I (for example) bought the Heroes of Might & Magic 3 (with 2 Expansions) for $3.97 CAD!!!

The SALE ends tomorrow... And I just found out about it TODAY. So please forgive me if you don't get this information IN TIME for the SALE...

The good news about HoMM3 is that you can download it and install it OFF-LINE. No need for Internet!

Anyways GOG has a ton of games (it's like the competitor to STEAM) but also feature games that are going to be released in the future.

I'm personally hooked on HoMM3. Wasted like 5 hours of my life playing Level 1. But I made a very smart decision and will only play Video Games on Sundays. The rest of the week "Game Design", our Forum, and the various concepts that I am still in the process of working on.

Anyways if you do get to pickup an OLDER title (like HoMM3) ENJOY!!! For less than $5.00 CAD is something to be dreamt of!!!

Cheers all!

Unfortunately (or

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) their sales are quite repetitive, especially for someone like me often looking at the older (DOS) games. I do not find much to buy that is not already in my library.

Great site though. I wish they added even more old games, and that I had time to play all the games I bought.

Older DOS games...

I didn't think there was anyone else like ME who was actually interested in some of those games. I mean I downloaded ROGUE (Free) and Ultima 5 (Free too) those are both DOS games. I found the as abandonware on a website...

Good to know that GOG often have SALES... I was unaware of this fact. I just visited their website following a wishlist of "Songs of Conquest" which looks a LOT like an HoMM3 game...

And while I was there (on GOG) they said: "You might like... HoMM3!" And I was like: "For less that $4 CAD... 75% off... Why not BUY a copy!"

Sales over now... But I mentioned it on Sunday... So people had the Monday to shop around for more great games...!

Cheers @pelle!

Sometimes...

They ask money for games that are supposed to be free.

I think GOG picks-up Abandonware and resells it too...

Yeah I think they transform old games into downloadable games at a ridiculously low price point. While $12.79 CAD is still rather inexpensive. I paid like $3.19 CAD for the game... So I'm really happy I found this game at that price.

It's more like the KIND of game that I like nowadays. I prefer Turn-Based Strategy (and Board/Card Games ... No you must be kidding!!!) and this lends well into my interest in physical games too! I guess it's a generational issue.

I'm well over the rush of FPS genre games... I know 3D Technology has progressed and games like Fallout 76 look really cool. But again it's not my style. I'll watch videos about the game and listen to news updates. But I don't want to PLAY those game.

In any case... The Sale is over and games are back to FULL PRICE! Sorry to all who didn't read this thread earlier. Like I said, I notified people on Sunday that there was a 75% sale... And would end yesterday (Monday 4 April).

If what @pelle is saying... They OFTEN have sales, you'll all have a chance to pick up more games to enjoy! Cheers.

Since my girl friend

Since my girl friend purchased Xbox game pass, I don't have the time to play the games I purchased. Always trying new games on XB game pass.

Are most of the games FPS genre??? I remember doing all-nighters with friends back in CEGEP. We'd haul over our PCs and play Quake (the original) or via modem Doom or Heretic... Spent COUNTLESS hours playing those high intensity First Person Shooters... Was a blast when I was younger. But then again back then I was very young (like 25 years ago).

It's not like I don't APPRECIATE those games anymore... I am thankful for all the "Good Times" we had back then. But that was back then, things have changed a lot over the years. Bottom line is that I don't have the patience to sit through a game. I've played 2 Levels over 2 weekends of HoMM3 and to be honest, I am a bit getting bored. Why??? Because it seems to be the same sh!t over and over:

The prelude to HoMM3 is a 4 scenario expansion... And it's all about the Elves fighting the Undead. Same stuff for 4 scenarios. No other units (well maybe in Level 2 there were Human cities...) but it's kinda repetitive in that the items keep coming back, the units are mostly the same, the spells are pretty much mostly useless, the enemy always has an advantage until you grind the level out.

It's getting repetitive real fast... And trust me the levels on EASY are FREAKEN HARD TBH!!! 80% and I'm still struggling to defeat the enemies. It's not at all EASY... So a sort of grind... Too bad. Maybe the main game will be more "playable"... We'll see. I LIKE the game... So I may decided to continue the 3rd Level (in the first expansion which is a prelude to the "core" game)... 4 Levels and the prelude is done...

Note #1: And just out of respect for @Jesse... I have no problem with people talking about Video Games... They're like brothers to the Gaming Scene. And off-topics may be posted in the "Water Cooler".

This SALE Topic is in the "Water Cooler" just because I wanted to share with our members the sale (the whole LAST DAY!!!) Sorry I didn't know earlier. In any event @pelle says they often run holiday sales... So look out for the next one in the event there are some games that peak your interest...

Note #2: I've been getting a LOT of e-mails for LINK-FARMING. I get on average one a day (if not more). If you want to post some video game link or comment on something OFF-TOPIC ... That's cool. All I ask is that you don't just post a Link/URL forcing members to CLICK-BAIT some of the content.

Just be sure to SHARE whatever it IS... And then share the link. This way if people are NOT interested by the topic... They aren't FORCED to visit some other website they are not interested in visiting. Ergo the opposite of "CLICK-BAITING".

Again OFF-TOPIC subjects are welcomed. Just make sure you provide enough info about whatever it is you want to SHARE. Cheers ALL!!!
