I have this problem that some times when I place stuff on my web site and people cannot actually see it. I suspect that some people in some geographical location of the world cannot see the pages. So I am trying to make a little survey to gather information and see if I can actually help debugging the problem.

So if you would like to participate to the little survey, click on each link below and tell me if you actually see a real web page or if you get a page not found or access denied. etc.

Once you are done, add a post to this thread in the following format:

Yes/no - Error Name
Yes/no - Error Name
Yes/No - Error Name
City Name or country name

The 4 first yes/no statement indicates it the link worked or not. If it did not work, write the error number (ex: 404 page not found). Then add the city or the country where you live in.

Here are the links, they are all on the same server but deeper in the directory structure

http://ariel.bdeb.qc.ca/

http://ariel.minilab.bdeb.qc.ca/~ericp/

http://ariel.minilab.bdeb.qc.ca/~ericp/cgi-bin/boardgame/index.php

http://ariel.bdeb.qc.ca/~ericp/cgi-bin/boardgame/uploads/Mainsite/Main/H...

Thank you for your feedback.

hmmm....

It won't work for me.
I tried all of the links and got this same message every time.

"Safari can’t open the page “http://ariel.bdeb.qc.ca/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding."

no ACTUAL error messages though.

I live in Seattle, WA, USA.

p.s. I tried the links with mozilla firefox and i couldn't even "click" on the links.

good luck.

I'm in the UK, using Firefox.

No to all four, using Chrome.

No to all four, using Chrome. No error, just "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to ariel.bdeb.qc.ca"

bdeb.qc.ca works fine, so it may be a routing error on your campus or something.

I'm in North Carolina, USA.

I'm using a 64-bit Microsoft IE in a Win7 Home Premium environment so I don't actually get an error code and/or I don't know how to get it.

I'm in Buenos Aires, Argentina

No - Could not connect to

No - Could not connect to remote server
No - Could not connect to remote server
No - Could not connect to remote server
No - Could not connect to remote server
Sweden

Using Opera (Linux) 10.62 (something which is usually far more important than geography). But I started up Chromium and tested and it failed as well ("Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to ariel.minilab.bdeb.qc.ca" etc).

I can ping ariel.minilab.bdeb.qc.ca (testing from two different locations in Sweden), so DNS is working and your server is reachable from here. There is nothing responding on port 80 though (testing with telnet). Like if there is no web server listening or you have a firewall blocking my requests.
