Hi Guys,
Could someone tell me if I would have any Problems
if I sold My Game to my Son-in-Law.
The reason being that I'm 75 now,and he would have
a Better Chance of getting it Published, should something
happen,rather than letting it Die,without a Chance.
Any help would be Appriciated.

What kind of problems do you mean?

If you don't want the game idea to die away then wouldn't you just give it to him..what would be the point of selling it or is this purely a formality?

Hi,EducationalCardGames,
I don't know if it is Legal just to give it away.
Would Not want him to have Problems Later.

I'm not sure if there is a legal issue or not. Maybe consult your local Intellectual Property office.

As I'm in the UK I don't know the US equivalant.

Good luck with your idea i hope it comes to succeessful fruition whatever happens.

I think you need to talk to a lawyer; this is a very special case that most of us aren't going to have experienced. Any IP or contracts lawyer could help you draw up a contract to sell the rights to the game for $1. There may also be a way to put it in a will; talk to an estate lawyer for that.

In the meantime, selling him the rights now might limit (or at least complicate) your ability to market your game yourself. Likewise not selling it will make it harder for your son-in-law to market it himself.

Hi ilta,
Thank you and EducationalCardGames, for your input.
I think I will go the Layer Route, because
the Game is Copyrighted, and to make sure the Sale is Legal.
