Is it me or is there another erasure of current topics from the tab?

Probably the Backup was RESTORED!

Rich said that the backup would be for the 20 December. So from the 20-26 December, those forum topics got overridden. We were warned that there would be a "restore". And so, Yes some topics have been lost - due to the restore...

But the good news, we should all now be able to continue posting without any more erasures...

Cheers.

I wonder if they will ever

I wonder if they will ever update this forum and its features. So many things don't work properly or are very limited.

Completely agree

And I'm frustrated with it.

The difficulty lies in that for the longest time there was very little "ownership" of BGDF. Back in the day there used to be a host of admins doing work, some with IT backgrounds. All of them volunteer.

As of recently, pretty well all the duties are starting to fall on me and a few mods.

It's time for this to change, and now I'm in my rights to do it. That's the upside. The downside is I'm not an IT specialist, much less a Drupal wizard.

To fix this we (BGDF) need the following:

  1. A volunteer that knows how drupal works, and can do a data export, Drupal update, to version 8, and restore the site (obviously to a test server first)
  2. ideally this person would become the IT Admin for BGDF. There aren't any perks, other than helping BGDF get back to top form and implement the changes people have asked for the last couple years.

I'm asking around, but in the long run there are many more integrated features I know we as a community would like out of BGDF. Hence the need for users to step up as Admins for a term.
