Hey there, BGDFers. I'm really happy to be part of this forum. As the newest member, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a lifelong game lover. I was born in the '70s and grew up on old school favorites like Clue, Stratego, Mastermind, Rummikub and Sorry! Even as a kid I would create games, and I've never lost the desire to brainstorm new ideas.

Over the years, I've been drawn to games of all types. My early days drew me to 221b Baker St., Dark Tower and Survive, to name a few. I still like the occasional party game like Balderdash. And I've embraced some of the newer wave of games, most notably Catan: The Card Game, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Small World, Lost Cities and Blokus.

I mostly play with my wife and family, friends as well but less so. I haven't delved too deeply into Euro games or RPGs, but I'm familiar with the more popular ones. Mostly though, I'm drawn to lighter/simpler games.

Currently I am in the process of developing my own game company. I plan on self-publishing a line of card games that I'd describe as classic themes with contemporary style and distinctive elements of play. I have joined the BGDF because I have never developed or marketed a game before, and could definitely use some ongoing advice and insight. I know what I like, have a good feel for aesthetics and am committed to the undertaking, but could use all the help I can get. I look forward to getting to know many of you through future posts.

One question, what's my corkboard for? I saw it when I first signed up. Thanks.

First and foremost, welcome

It's nice to see new game designers digging up their roots and put pencil to paper to relive a life long passion. I'm fairly new as well. Welcome.

As for the corkboard, it's kind of like your sticky notes. At least, that's how I see it. Since I can't see anyone else's, I'm assuming it's only visible to you. My use is to keep quick notes on to-do, ideas that cross my mind while in the Forum, or keeping tabs on certain members here. People can't comment on them so the privacy thing leads me to believe that's its function... notepad, or more to the name, a corkboard.
