Hey friends! I'm Nate! Super pumped to be a part of this community! I love the podcast and love all things board games!

A quick bio on me:

My wife and I work at a group home just outside of Greenville and together we help take care of 8 teenage girls. During our of time we love travel and board gaming! We even went all the way to Carcassonne France to play Carcassonne in the city walls! What an adventure!

We recently had our first kid last month, a baby boy!

I am also working on a board game design in my spare time, called Spy Movie: The Board Game. Since the wife and I work at a group home the schedule is a little wired. We work 9 days on then we have 5 days off. During those days I have been putting in a lot of effort in to my design. I am super close too getting ready for some blind play tests. I am working in the first"full" prototype this weekend, with art work that I have created and everything.

Anyways, I am always looking for someone to talk or play games with, so if your near Greenville I'm sure it's be awesome to talk and even one day do a Meetup at the Boardwalk (best flgs in Greenville Imo).

Excited to see more in this forum!

Hello Nate...

...and welcome to BGDF. :)

The process certainly is a fun one, isn't it? Realizing that you're inching towards that plateau of, "It's almost time to put this game in front of complete strangers," can be very satisfying.

Yeah, it sounds like you have a challenging schedule, but it also sounds like you and your wife are doing worthwhile, important work.

When you have the time, please share your thoughts and progress here at BGDF. Here's to your continued learning, and your eventual success with Spy Movie! :)

Funny my current design (Monster Keep) is inspired by Carcassonne. The idea was to have a Tile Laying mechanic which is a very versatile mechanic...

There could be something in this - basing a travel bucket list on your board game collection.

I want to play Jaipur in Jaipur, Buccaneer in the Caribbean, and...I'm not that fussy where I play Risk.

Hi and welcome, by the way! :)

We almost went to The Alhambra in Spain during the same trip! Wife and I said we didn't need any more board games haha! Something that was crazy to me, not one game of Carcassonne was for sale that we saw with in the city. I know it might be my American consumer mindset, but I was pretty surprised.

I will definitely be posting some pictures over the next few weeks about Spy Movie: The Game in the forums. It is a pretty cool concept. Basically taking all of the spy movie cliches and puting them in to one game. Also I am in the idea phase of Disaster Movie: The Board Game and Adventure Movie: The Board Game.

Where would be the proper place to post about my game on this site? I am thinking new game ideas, but I just want to double check.
