Hi Everyone!

I already made a post a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I would officially say hello to the community. I am a web developer for my day job - game design is currently just a hobby. However, I am trying to see how far I can take my small card game concept that I've been focusing on for close to a year. If you're interested, here's the link:

http://www.bgdf.com/forum/game-creation/new-game-ideas/rock-paper-scisso...

I've got some paper prototypes made and have done a bunch of solo playtesting. I've even programmed an early version of the game in Javascript, just to run simulations on the flow of cards and get some percentages after running thousands of hands.
Now I need some live bodies to run real games, so that's what I'm currently focusing on.

From the link above, I posted in New Game Ideas, but I haven't received a lot of replies...should I post somewhere else?

Looking forward to speaking more with this community!

Welcome :)

Howdy and welcome! I like the flowchart, makes the game concept easy to follow. Is there a theme or unique mechanic that separates it from other RPS games? I've seen a few of these on Kickstarter and they seem like a good concept for people getting into card games in general.

Thanks for the reply! I feel

Thanks for the reply! I feel like a theme would be helpful in making it feel like more than just a RPS game, and I've certainly seen other games go the same. Here's what I'm kicking around with so far:

-Pirates: You're trying to recruit a crew of pirates in a rowdy tavern on a lawless island. Get 4 different types of pirates (Killer, Thief, Swindler, Recruiter, Old Sea Dog, which is wild) to win. The pirates fight in the "tavern" (the RPS battle) and the player with the winning pirate can decide to send him to the ship (collect the card) or send him off to do dirty work (discard the card to use the ability). I feel like there are a lot of pirate card games out there, but the mechanics seem to fit nicely with themes of destruction, stealing and swapping.

-Build a Robot: You're some sort of mad scientist trying to build a massive killer robot and the RPS Cards are various tools that can be used independently (discard for the ability) or assembled for the robot (collected). This isn't fully fleshed out yet, but I feel like it could have a fun, crazy energy to it.

-Special Agents: Similar to the Pirate Concept, you'd have Assassins, Spies, Seducers, Strategists or Jack Of All Trades. Again the mechanics of the game seem to fit with characters that are in it for themselves.

Not sure which stands out more....perhaps anyone could work?
