Guess I ought to introduce myself to everyone!

I've been playing board games pretty much my whole life and loved them. I grew up on Monopoly, Life, Payday, Risk, Stratego, Axis & Allies, Battleship, Sequence … (eighty-five games later) … and all those great classics.

When I was nine or so, I discovered that you could DESIGN board games, and designed a farming board game. Ever since then I've been hooked!

I created a war game called Assault when I was around 15, which is still my favorite game I've ever created. I've never worked on it since I completed it back then, since I didn't feel it was original enough to warrant publishing. But who knows?

That spurred me to make a sea-based battle game, which I didn't see on the market anywhere at the time--not anywhere where I shopped, that is. That seed idea is what inspires my current project, though the whole game has been rebuilt from scratch at least ten times since then.

I also designed a complex space RPG call the Guardians, with multiple boards and a unique storyline. I wanted to make a casual RPG that didn't feel so complicated that you had to invest your soul in the learning process, but I couldn't get the mechanics to mesh. This one got put on the shelf too.

Right now though, I'm determined to finish and publish Privateer, a seafaring adventure game. It's obviously not exactly an original theme … but I'm convinced that every theme has already been done already, so I'm not worried about that so much. The important thing is to have an original game, not an original theme. Hopefully I can make this game a reality soon!

I'm excited to be here, and I'm looking forward to getting and giving feedback here!
