Antaire: Villages - Basic principles

Three levels

Any building should have a maximum of three levels, base plus two levels of advancement. eg. Players start with a Village, advances to a Town, which advances to a City.

Buildings

A village needs to have some basic buildings. There are many buildings that a village can have but it is only relevant to add those that have some game impact (obviously)

End Game Marker

Building a wonder. After discussion on the forum, the game will contain an end game marker as originally planned, however the first to build will not be the winner. Either it will mark the end of the game or start an end game timer.

Trade

There should be trade opportunities between players.

Determining the Winner

The winner will be determined by who has acquired the most victory points. Victory points are allocated for the building/advancement of buildings.

Other Things of Interest

It was mentioned that event cards could be used to provide advantages/obstacles for players, and in fact insurance could be purchased against some events. The exact method that event cards are to be used are numerous. One could be that they are automatically drawn after a number of turns, or they could be purchasable by players, where they could be effects that they can impose upon another village or their own. This would also be a way of distributing additional victory points.

Building takes time, much like playing some cards in MtG where cards start tapped, buildings take time to build, so they may take a number of turns to build.
