Hello :)

I developed a card game and made a working online prototype. I am now looking for playtesters to gather feedback.

The game is completely playable on this link: https://brawlmaster.notecompanion.com/

It's 1v1 fighting card game, aimed at simulating the mind game that you have during an actual one on one fight.

The game becomes more and more interesting as players' characters become tired and more predictable. It's all about convincing your adversary that you will attack or block on one side and be on the other :)

I'd love to hear some feedback. Also I have no idea how to get more players involved, so feel free to play with your friends and even share it with the world :D

Type of feedback wanted

First, what is very important is your first impression. I have a lot of people coming by the webpage but not trying the game, and knowing what is your first impression might help me figure out why.

Then, if there's anything that is not clear to you in the rules.

And finally, just by playing the game, how you feel about it, if you enjoyed it or not and why.
Also, if you had a feeling that some cards where less useful than others. :)

PvP discourages a lot

Player versus player is inherently difficult to get players- they consider and then find no one there and give up and the problem is made worse. Anyone want to tee up a time to play. Graphically it is too basic.

Tutorial added

I added an interactive tutorial to the webpage. Hopefully that will help people get a feel of the game even if they have no one else to try it with...

Pretty good, actually.

However, I somehow have a feeling that this will work better in a digital form.

Ultimately, I would really

Ultimately, I would really like the game to fit into a Pen&Paper RPG session. I want players to start with few cards and unlock more as their character progresses, also add weapons, injuries and lethal attacks.
For all of this, I think the solid format would be great.

It's true that currently, It's hard to see how I am going to reproduce some of the digital helpers in paper, but I am sure I'll find a way :)

Did anyone get a chance to play with a friend?

Tutorial

The tutorial is great. It was easy to follow. I am hoping to try a real game soon. My one concern is that if a player does not know a lot about this style of fighting it may be difficult to select from so many choices. On the other hand, the abundance of choices might make it more fun for those who do.
Best of luck!

Thanks!

Wow, I wasn't sure about the tutorial so I am glad it worked out :). Thanks for trying it.

The way the game goes is that there truly are two phases: in the first one, when players have a lot of breath, there is a lot of options indeed. This phase is mostly about managing risk and trying to end in the best possible position for the second phase.

The second phase is when players are low on breath. At this point, options are much more limited and there is more announcing done. You can start to safely predict your opponent's move and even few moves ahead.

This reduce a lot the feeling of having too many cards available :)

Automation!

Hey Everyone!

I'm glad to announce that I finally added automatic updates of the values. I also changed Consciousness to Damage. It's not a value going from 10 to 0 anymore but from 0 to 10 (with a K.0 if a character accumulates 10 points of damage).
