If you still preferred the hex pattern, you could make it semi translucent over another color so that it creates a lighter texture effect.

True but after realising it, I don’t think I want any busy background, I think a simple solid colour or gradient would do just fine

Much nicer. I was not a fan of that noisy hex background but I like the subtle gradient texture.

Please do make sure you're consistent with your text placement when you're finalizing the cards though. You've shown a few different locations and layouts so I thought this is a pertinent suggestion, just in case. :)

I think you can minimize the text as well. Instead of what you have now (using this infernal genie as an example) try;

When played, you may either;
- Draw a Card
- Play a Card

UNLESS, there are more locations you can draw or play cards from/to besides your Deck and your Resource Zone?
