back of the game board

Hi,

Is anyone familiar with making nice backsides of game boards? The kind of back that looks a bit 'classic', mostly in a dark colour, that also covers the edges and a the outside border on the front side.

What materials do you use? Ho do you assemble these materials and in which order? First the back side, then the front side, or vice versa?
