Protospiel Madison is another great Protospiel event where amateur & established game designers get together to test and promote game prototypes in a supportive, collaborative environment. This casual event is based on sharing experiences and insight toward a goal of making the best games.

Protospiel Madison is hosted by The Game Crafter in Madison, Wisconsin on December 1-3. As with all protospiel events, we are providing attendees with a smorgasbord of free blank components and game pieces.

Curious???

Hello TGC,

I was wondering are the Protospiel Events all managed SEPARATELY?! What I mean is the Protospiel in Indianapolis ran by a different crowd that the one in Madison (for example)...

There seems to be something in Toronto, but that's an 8-Hour drive.

I could do Ottawa (2-Hour drive) and maybe book 2-Nights in Ottawa... That could be cool. I would never suggest to have an event in Montreal because that event would need to be ran in "French". Especially if there will be a LOT of gamers at the event.

But Ottawa could be a compromise destination.

I'm not one to be able to RUN an event, but I would probably attend such an event in Ottawa for a 1 or 2-Night stay (weekend including the Friday).

I'm asking because TGC is much more aware about these events that I know personally. From what I know (which is limited when it comes to these events) is that the HammerCon in Hamilton used to have one NIGHT of "Protospiel North" event... But I was not able to attend this event due to timing issues.

Anyways, I was just thinking is this ran separately by each "Group" or is there some kind of "Central" Organization which oversees and regulates the events be it in the USA and/or Canada.

As you are probably better informed, I ask of you these questions due to my lack in knowledge of these Protospiel Events.

Any info you may share would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and all the best for your Madison Event!

Just bumping this thread...

Figured some EXTRA "exposure" for the Protospiel Event in Madison, Wisconsin USA could be GOOD!

Of course everyone who can and wants to attend this Event, please feel free to click on one of the links to take you to the Event Page.

In any event, we are hoping that this Event is a Smashing Success and we'll do our "little part" to help spread the word further!

Cheers "The Game Crafter"!

Protospiels are all hosted by

Protospiels are all hosted by different people in the community. Many of the protospiel regulars travel all over the US to different events. They enjoy playtesting their games and hanging out with some fun and talented people.

We support Protospiel North that's usually hosted by Joe Slack. We provide some blanks and game pieces for designers to use. We've heard it's a great event so you'll have to check it out and see if it would work for you. Protospiel events are great and we highly recommend them.
