I'm UK based and am currently living in London. I've always had an interest in games and used to invent ones for myself and friends to play when I was eight or nine.
I am working on a word based game with different game mechanics from what is on the market right now. My dilemna now is whether to approach a manufacturing company, or go 'kickstarter' to get it up and running with the rules and quality of pieces I want, and then hopefully sell it on for royalties.
I found these articles very useful and realistic. It's either a game or a totally consuming business.

At the moment I will be weighing up the implications of importing from china and all that's involved with it. UK manufacturing does not seem cheap.
