Hi All,

First question is... what do you think of this as a design concept for manufacturing Swarm?

Second question is, how do you think one could go about producing this in the real world? Where do you think you could get something like this made?

Swarm Design Concept - How To Make?

It certainly looks great (I already told it on another message), but acheiing it would require quite a lot of assembly (each cell has the wood fibres in different directions, so it's different pieces glued toghether).

You could achieve something very similar and much cheaper by printing the board on one single block of wood, and even then I guess it would be quite expensive. A cardboard board has to be sinsibly cheaper.

But cheaper is not always better. A good looking game might sell better, even though at a higher price, than a mediocre looking one. Even if by going with a more expensive version limits your sales, it might still be a good choice.

Just my two cents,

Try cutting out the basic shape of the board with a jigsaw or handsaw - then get yourself a router and go to town with all the grooves in it - might work that way?

you could then stain it, and paint the grooves black by hand

Haha! I'm no carpenter!

(But thanks for the thought)
