Shame on me

For some reason while I remembered the BGDF, I had completely forgotten about the blog I had here. The Chaos Effect game is still in the same stage as when I posted last time. Life has been busy raising my grandson in the years since the last post. I've also made three trips to Japan since then and keep bringing back tons of distracting things for inspiration. I've got a ton of excuses but I do want to get back to game design soon. Perhaps start publishing and selling on Drive Thru RPG.

Chaos Effect board prototype

After much delay the local Staples (the only office supply store in this end of town) finally fixed their printer for over sized stuff. I have the prototype for the Chaos Effect game in my hands. Now that NaNoWriMo is over I can get back to my game designs and maybe get the card prototypes out to actually playtest the game itself.

No Origins for me

It was a tough decision but I've decided to skip out on Origins this year. I had been looking forward to play-testing my Chaos Effect board game as well as my Pure Fantasy RPG engine. Money issues would make it an irresponsible trip though since I also have a three week trip to Japan in July. I guess I'll use what little money I had saved up for spending on games and pick up a new Nintendo DSi (with a game) for the long plane trip.

Chaos Effect board game

The rules and card effects for my Chaos Effect board game have been semi formalized into something I'm pretty comfortable with. Now I just need to get a prototype board and some cards made up.

Unfortunately the over-sized B&W printer at the local Staples has been broken for over a month so I can't get the board printed out. There aren't many other options to go to here in Kentucky without having to drive clear across town.

The cards I'll print up on my own printer (when I get a new USB cable for it) and then glue to the front of playing cards and put into CCG card sleeves.
