Hey all!

I have placed the test rule-set for my game, Starquest!, on my site. You can get the pdf at http://dimoninteractive.com/starquest/starqnews.htm (it's available from a link under the 07-Feb-05 update).

Alternatively, you can go to:
http://dimoninteractive.com/starquest/Test_rules.pdf

I would appreciate any feedback you might have on the format & layout, wording or even the mechanics (though those are pretty much established at this late stage).

You can post your feedback on the message boards connected to my site, as replies to this post on BGDF, or by emailing me at info@dimoninteractive.com

Much thanks!!

Sincerely,

Dead Eye

P.S. I am also running a contest for a free FFG board game - all the rules and such are posted on my site! Feel free to enter!

Hi Deadeye,

I just went through some of the main things on the game, as 26 pages of rulesbook, whew...

From what I saw it looks like a fun game, that I and my friends would like to play one day. I don't know if you noticed that you wrote, commodities and cargo twice, once on page 3 another time on 14. Scratch that you placed almost everything twice (about important things w/ pictures).

Got a few questions for you. I'am also trying to make nice, but cheap (just ink printing) "player mats" (like the ship boards), and also cards using the same method. If you don't mind me asking, what program(s) did you use to make them and what utilities (anything besides computer).

Thanks for taking a look.

The first section shows you what the cards look like and how many there are - while the second secion under game concepts details how all the cards actually work.

I will probably merge them all into one area.

I used MS Visio to create pretty much everything except the bits (counters, cargo, etc.) It's not at all what the program is designed for, but it's incredibly easy to use... and the templates make creating and placing icons a cinch.

Some stuff I printed on card stock, some I printed on photo-paper (for ultra-sharp clarity and resolution).

Unfortunately no... The game is not easily reproducable. There are hundreds of cards - hundreds. Plus all the cargo units and various chits. It's definitely not something that can be thrown together using household items or a quick print out of some cards.

But, if anyone has any specific feedback to the rule book, please let me know.

I'd really like to playtest it, it looks really cool.
