Do you like sci-fi games? Do you like card games? Are you looking something different in a card game?

Then I'm happy to announce that my game: Conquest at Kismet from Victory Point Games, is now on Pre-Order! In Conquest at Kismet, players battle over the Kismet sector of the Raccroc Galaxy in large motherships.

Gameplay revolves around 2 mechanics: The Time Mechanic and the Combat Stack Mechanic.

The Time Mechanic applies to Support Card that are played on a player's mothership that give them a special ability. Once activated, a Support Card turns to a particular orientation and is then on cooldown. The Time Mechanic turns all cards on cooldown 90 degrees clockwise to indicate the time before an ability can be used again. Think of it as a modified "tap" system that actually makes sense.

The Combat Stack Mechanic is a simpe lottery system. Instead of "summoning" units and then sending them out to attack, players place cards from their hand (or deck, when able), into a shared pile called a Combat Stack. Combat is resolved when the defender shuffles the deck and the attacker pulls a result. This is more thematic because it simulates sending smaller ships from the mothership to fight the battle and anything can happen in the pull. You may attack and hit big, or you might find yourself the victim of a counterattack.

The marriage of these two mechanics make this game exciting, fun, and completely different from any card game out there. Tested against players of all kinds, from completely novice players to pro card players to avid board gamers, this game has been received extremely well and has players wanting more.

Described by Sam Healey of The Dice Tower as a "simple, light game like Star Realms" (he played it at this year's GenCon 2015), this is one game that you'll enjoy.

Pre-Order your game now!

Can I download the pdf rules

I read your articles on your journey to making this game. This is the first time I've actually seen a concrete description of your core mechanic, and it feels both thematic and unique. Congratulations.

Can I download the pdf rules on your site?

I can't seem to find the link, which seems like it should be under "Game Resources"

Well right now I'm putting the final polish on the rules...it's been through several iterations and I'm working on the final one. It's more for clarity rather than trying to explain the rules. I'm working on a tutorial video that will be released before the game comes out. I'll put a link here when it's done.

The link for the preorder is right there. On the VPG page, it's under "Packaging type" and a button for "Add to cart".

Thanks for reading my journey. I'm hoping people will like it, I put a lot of work into it.
