Hello all. I am a software developer from Spain (sorry for the bad english beforehand) trying to make the leap to board game developing along with a friend. We have a game that is ready for production and looking in Internet about game manufacturers I found this place and I know that if I want to handle this world I have to be here for learning.

Our first game is Ars Universalis, a game about arts and science since Middle Ages. We have tested it thoroughly and showed it in several game conventions and people liked it so we think we are ready for the scary crofunding.

You can check our site in Meridiano 6 (in spanish only by now).

things to consider before

things to consider before crowdfunding:

1. Have you blind tested the game? (have it played by people without you around to walk them through it)

2. Have you decided if you are self publishing or are you looking to go through a publisher?

3. If you are going through a publisher then you need to contact one first before crowdfunding

4. If you are self publishing then you need to contact manufacturers, get quotes on not only your game's production costs but also all the rewards you'll be offering to backers

5. Have you setup your own way of marketing yourself through social media sites so that if/when you do go through crowdfunding people are aware of it?

Just some food for thought

also, hello

Hi, Zodiak Team. Yes, we have

Hi, Zodiak Team. Yes, we have blind tested the game. We gave one test copy to a board game players association of our city to make tests. We already have contacted a few publishers and were talking with them for knowing the costs of the first edition. We have a blog, a facebook page and a twitter account and try to be present in social networks. Anyways all those remarks are welcome because this is precisely the reason for being in this forum: Learning for the people more experienced than us that can help us in the proccess :)
