Saw a useful article over at Gamasutra today. In it, Caleb Compton discusses Designing Interesting Decisions in Games (and When Not To). Topics include analysis paralysis (or "AP"), as well as the "paradox of choice," where while the number of options increases, the chance for player satisfaction decreases.
I personally think this article is well worth the time to read it, particularly if you're unfamiliar with the above terms. Enjoy!
