Celevale-A world of opportunities- Well it will be.

I have started this blog to get the communities help with a game I am making and to get feed back before I go test it. My game is set in a world that has been shattered by a evil exiled from the realm of the High Gods this evil ended up crashing into a planet and shattering, these shards were found by the surviving man. These shards are fifth matter (fifth matter is used in my game like a bonus life for a single creature [Will be elaborated on]) fifth matter game people of this planet the power to manifest thier thoughts and dreams into living creatures or to manipulate matter to create buildings and such. The mechanics it's self is infact to travel the world and complete quests and defeat your enemies (of course). It will use a 10 tier system were in the main story line you will need to win a town then you can move on and on the final tier #10 you face off the ultimate evil that lives in the core of Celevale. Battle itself is much like that of D&D or Warhammer you use a measuring tape to move your creatures aroun the hexagon board and also to measure how far you throw the enemy back. If the enemy is thrown off the board then well its dead apon which you have the option of bringing your beasty back or summoning the next creature in your Team (a team consist's of 5 creatures) when all five are dead you lose 20% of your current money and you can either move on to a new town to try your hand at a seperate quest or try again and risk losing... Again... Other towns are not included in the tier system or will have thier own tier system.
To travel you roll a D20 and times that number by 3 to decide on travel costs each time. Creatures them selves and players have a very indepth relation ship due to the fact the creature reflects the player in more than one way. The creature and the player must have the same level the player gains levels each time they battle when your level doubles that of a single creature that creature can Metamorph and all its stats are times by two. You roll dice to see weither or not you hit your oppenents creature (D8) then the opponent rolls and if the opponent rolls higher than you then nothing happens but if he/she rolls 6/8 or more he will take the damage but will not be moved but if he rolls less than 6/8 he will take the damage and be moved how ever far and take half the opponents damage dealt. Another form of quest will be that you could build a building you can just draw that out on paper and roll a D20 and times it by your ammount of fifth matter. Each location will have 3 quests this will be represented on location cards this card will also tell you what other locations you can access from that location, it will also tell you what level or tier you need to be to embark on this quest. There will be creature cards and Player cards which I have already designed. Please dont be afraid to comment and all comments will be apreciated.

Heya TomDread, sounds cool

Heya TomDread, sounds cool man - nice ideas.

I didn't get from your post if it is a board game, a warhammer style game or something of a mix of the two. IS it a single player game? Or is it my army vs. your army and then (at tier 10) the big baddy is played by a DM or automatically resolved by the players ?

I like the idea that you can weave your ideas into reality: you could get some wicked ideas with a system so flexible as that: also the monsters/minions could be awesome little miniatures too. Everything from racing cards to wind up walking teeth if you wanted to, no need to hold onto "generic warhammer chaos style monsters"

Also, just had a brief idea that if it was indeed a warhammer player vs player match : that you would start the game with one unit - you. And then as turns progress you would "summon" in all of your army. This would give early turns a lot of priority and a lot of skill "If he's calling in his raiders, I should call in my heavy cannons to counter it, but if he starts with his DeathWyrms, I better get my Slayer out" kind of thing.

Thanks

Hrm I see well you see the reason it is 1 vs. 1 play is because the story states that you can only imagine one thing at a time with enough strength for it to hold together and because it is a small game play map. I made it for 1 vs. 1 play also I thought up a new feature, you at the cost of Fifth Matter can create obsticales for a set time I will need to think about the type but I will add this feature.

Oh yes refering to your dm question, half the ammount of players play at one time with this game because your fellow player is infact the DM they dont lose anything and dont gain EXP but if there was a single DM and all players playing at once it could get... Well.. Complicate... Just to Clarify and the Mani-creature cards will also have spinners on them for selected abilities that will be used that turn of the match just so every one is clear. Oh yes and you can call in your heavy cannons to counter if he has death wyrms because you can sacrifice fifth matter to switch out your creature to add a realitive type dynamic to your whole team. :3
P.S It is a multiplayer game and it is a Warhammer/Cardplay/Drawing game so it has alot of options.

Ideas

I have thought about it and I have decided on what buildings you can summon during battle the first is a wall that you can decide were the opening will be the second will be a pit you can use to throw your opponent into and throw them into and he third will be a power circle you can use to power up your attacks but you will move farther when hit. I am still working on the 3 quest types but I think I will work on the game tommorow and see if I can set up a time I can play test it.

I HAVE DONE IT!

I have complete all 10 tier cards for the game once all 10 tier cards are obtained and your construction level is max then you can take on the final boss! I will put the picture up.

I'm excited to see the fruits

I'm excited to see the fruits of your labour Tom :)
Tell us when we can havea look at them!

Sorry

Ahhh God! School just started and I am having trouble planning in my boardgame making time along with my homework, and I lost my 10 tier cards :(. I am gonna have to remake them but now instead I am going to throw in some run-ins with the Cult of the Fallen Star. I am not sure though about somthing though, should I allow exp gain as to slow down the big players and allow little ones to catch up or should I just leave it the way it is. The way it is is every battle a players tier goes up and allows them to use another level of creature but it stops once you complete the main story. I am going to go write the rules now see you later BGDF.

I need help

How were do I post my game art maps and my wonderfull rules? please respond I need help1
