Nice board Aerjen! what made you think of it & will the weight make it expensive to post?

sorry Marco ... I have real

sorry Marco ... I have real proplems with this new site..

Bryk or Matthew can you tell me why I am picking up partial old messages or is this likely to be a a virus thing with my computer? It is like the preview works and then flicks to the next comment when I hit save - not the first time I have had this happen.

Thanks Shazzaz! What made me

Thanks Shazzaz!

What made me think of this game?

Well you know those great 3D topographic plastic maps that have everything printed on them (roads, rivers, towns and even skilifts)? I really like the idea as this for my game base but it is highly expensive to a) sample b) make changes c) produce - so i went with the next best thing, dense foam layers. The foam layers also made it easier to print, shape and create holes. The final assembly process is quite long but I'm very pleased with the result - even better than if I went with the plastic!

The idea of using the peg-in-the-hole system was to help make the game and playing pieces more stable (I hated playing Squatter, having all my sheep stations full with sheep, then someone bumping the board and pieces going everywhere!). I loved playing Mastermind as a kid so I think this system was always present in the 'subconscious'.

This peg-in-the-hole sytem also lends itself well to the theme as you have the feeling to 'plant' a tree.

The wight of the entire game is not too heavy at all considering its size. The entire games weighs in at 1.7kg (3.7 lbs).

Fantastic!

That's really attractive, Marco, very nice! I wish you great luck with it!

That's a lot of custom plastic, what is the retail (store) price of the game?

Again, congratulations! It really looks great!

Thanks Mathew! At the moment

Thanks Mathew! At the moment the game will only be sold online. Its retail price in the US (Mainland) is $44.95 with ground shipping included. For European and other buyers they must add at least 15$ to cover extra freight charges.

I have put a bit of time and effort into the website as this game will NOT be sold in any bricks and mortar stores. A bit of a challenge, but I think I'm up to it!

(the game is manufactured in China because I have worked there for the past 7 years in specialty packaging projects - so I have very good resources and contacts that are also very good friends. With two of my friends I have created a small publishing business called PYXI, as we are also working on some children's book projects. I am responsable for everything from design through to sales and marketing, while my two Chinese friends Alan and Pierre look after production and sourcing. We have done many projects together but Timber Tom is our first board game!

We will ship around 100 games to Pennsylvania where they will be handled by a Fulfillment service for shipment within the US. We'll see how that goes before we decide to start shipping container loads!!

I 'm glad you like it. Thanks very much for your reply!)
