ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTE (all remarks in bold are by the administrator): The original author of this post completely eliminated his opening remarks about the service he was theoretically offering and changed it to the following:

Quote:
Thank you to everyone who sent in their board games from this site. Very good work.

PREnterprises.

Note, however, that there is no evidence whatsoever that anyone from this board ever sent anything to this person. As I note below, there is no reason to believe that this person has put forth a legitimate proposition, and elimination of his original post is a very bad sign. -- Matthew/FastLearner

What do you mean by that? Any old crappy game will do?

I did a search and PUNT RETURN ENTERPRISES has no web site. They must be a start up looking for products.

A note for P.R.E.

If you are using my art for the product I will expect to be compensated in the same fashion that any professional artist would on top of the % of my royalty. Also get yourself a web site and start a PR/Advetising campaign to undo the damage you have done yourself by suggesting you don’t care about the quality of your products. The gaming grape vine is vast and well connected, your post here will be seen by thousands

Gee thanks! Now I know if I game I send is accepted its not because it's a GOOD game, just that it looks pretty enough to get your attention.

I don't think its a good thing that you're advertising that games you're willing to accept don't need to be good games.

I know now that I won't buy any games you produce because

Folks,

Let's reel this in. My comment was posted because I think the original poster probably miswrote what they meant to say, and I was trying to get them to clarify their intentions (He was still online when I posted my reply). Before we drag him through the sewers let's at least let him try and clear up what he meant to say. I DO NOT want this community to get a reputation for flaming people, so let's go easy on him, shall we? =^)

To me the lack of addressing direct questions is a bad sign.

The lack of phone number or net contact, along with only a post office box for an address, would also keep me from working with this company. I see no reason to believe that I'd be paid for my efforts.

Just my personal opinion about my own thought process on potentially dealing with this company. It's certainly not intended to be advice for any of y'all.

FL, I would have to agree with you, which is why I did not post in the first place.

There is nothing that is being offered to give a good reason to submit a game to this company. If anything it would be nice to see some useful information in the post that deals with submission guidelines, NDAs, additional contact information, conventions attended, etc.

But in all, I would never submit to a company that shows no sign of self promotion (such as no website or even other information on the web about such a company or even data about conventions attended).

Might as well sell my own game at that rate! If nothing else I could use my own personal web space provided by my internet provider to put a temporary site about my game on the net. And if I really wanted I could attend conventions like GenCON.

At the rate of information posted here, I would have no confidence in my game going anywhere with this company. At least if I did something myself, I would know when and if my game was shown to the public. For that matter, I would at least have more confidence that it WOULD BE shown to the public.

I would like to say I find it odd that the address given is the same as is listed for Canadian Rake.

http://www.canadarake.com/index.html

I guess they could be branching out into games.

I once received a "spam" in my email from a real estate broker. It was all written in CAPS. The thing is he lived around here and was actually a legitimate broker that wanted to sell our house. The message was personalized. Feeling good that day, I fire up a polite reply about Net Etiquette and give him some links to check out. Later, I receive a phone call and it's that guy! He wanted to speak to my father and asked me if I was the one who sent him those links about Net Etiquette. He found it to be really useful and corrected the errors of his way. He had just got on the internet and sent "over 300 emails this morning". He thanked me and I passed the call to my dad.

I'm guessing we're getting a similar "Hay, i'm on the internet!" situation. I could be wrong. I'm wrong very often.

Best of luck, PRE. Some advices: Don't talk in third person all the time. Don't mention the name of your company so much. It's freaky, like it's a human and have a will of it's own. Answer questions in a more humane way and don't deflect the questions with PR bullshit. Obviously don't say you don't care about quality. YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT QUALITY!

Edit: Oops, this is old. Sorry for reviving an old thread.
