GCS[Game Concept Session] for the Winter Survival game.

Bullet points
1) Co-op, if someone dies everyone loses
2) Trying to not starve and freeze
3) Set on an abandoned military base
4) Northern lite art an ice cold look
5) Inspired from an episode of survivor man (in the episode he turns a car seat into boots)
6) A scotland yard-esk board
7) defend from events like polar bear attacks and storms

An exciting concept? What game mechanics could execute this theme?

If you want to go a little

If you want to go a little darker, when a player dies, the other players could eat him to survive a bit longer.

You could call it "Donner Party."

Overall, I think it could be an interesting game, especially if you had a cool crafting system in which players could craft tons of different items out of things they find. (like Survivorman)

Sounds like...

Arctic Scavangers: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/41933/arctic-scavengers

I believe that the game uses "Race for the Galaxy" engine. I know it's a Deck-Building game. You can check out Tom Vasel's review of "Arctic Scavengers" if you want to have a better idea about how the game plays.

@keshiekay (Kelsey King) had a similar game called "Will to survive". You can read more about her game here:

Another example of the "co-op survive the harsh winter"-type game...

I was just thinking - a mechanic that might highlight the feeling of scarcity and desperation, and go hand in hand with crafting etc.

Use a deck if cards that represents whatever supplies you have. Any time a player uses an action to get a card, turn over three. The player must pick one and discard two. I don't know if that's at all valuable to you, but it struck me as an interesting mechanic that might fit your theme.

The 7th Continent has some

The 7th Continent has some really cool mechanics to simulate survival. It might give you some ideas.
