Hey guys, I'm working on a military strategy game, and I was wondering what kind of programs are out there for making maps.
I would like to make hexagonal maps, with images that can flow from 1 hex to the next, much like the maps for Axis and Allies.
I would also prefer any free programs, over paying for a program that only has a little bit more to offer.
Thank you for your help

Printable/ Modifiable Graph Paper

Here is a website with free downloads of hexagon graphs. You can even change some basic features on the website like color, size, and line width.

When you download it it is a pdf, so you have a few options at this point. If you have access to other adobe products you should be able to open it and modify it along with other graphics before printing.

Another option when I am lazy or working with a computer which only has paint, is to make the pdf 100% on the screen, then take a screenshot, and then paste into paint. This keeps the same size and now you can work on adding in graphics or putting the grid over graphics.

Once you're done editing just print on your printer or goto kinko's for some nice printing or oversize printing if needed.
