Hi from Clever Mojo Games

Hi There...My name is David. My brother, Fred, and I started designing family board games in January 2008 and we're in the middle of doing a short self-published run of our first game, Ogre Castle, right now. We also have two or three other games that are almost ready to give the short-run treatment. We're hoping the info here on BGDF, and the connections we'll make here, will help a couple of newbies like Fred and I out as we pursue our dream. I do not know if linking out of BGDF is kosher or not, but here's our fledgeling website if anyone's interested in giving us a look-see.

Thanks and we look forward to meeting you all soon.

Hi David. I really like the

Hi David.

I really like the business name but, I have a couple of questions ....

Ogre Castle may or may not be interesting - what is in the box? I cannot judge it by the blurb and one image. a picture of all contents would be useful.

With the other games - How far off is the "short run treatment", there is no indication that they are yet to be published except the price is missing. As a potential customer I would find it frustrating to spend time deciding which of the five to buy and then learning I have no choice. A release date, or banner stating under developement, would be useful.

I also found it a tad annoying to click the cafe express link and not get answers - I found myself looking at pullovers instead. I assumed the cafe express site would answer my questions.

The Games need pride of place at cafe express, or Clever Mojo needs to indicate that the cafe express site has additional merchandise, as opposed to "merchandise information".

I hope you get more feedback as it may be that I am fussy!

you say cafe express. Not

you say cafe express. Not cafepress right? There is a cafepress.com that you can create murchandise.

Feedback

Shazzaz and End of Time Games...Thanks very much for your comments. Like blind play testing, a fresh set of eyes can be a revelation. :-)

The link to Cafe Press is just for a few pieces of logo clothing, not for the games themselves. I can see where that can be easily misunderstood so we'll change the wording to make it clear.

I've added the box cover art for Ogre Castle so a viewer can get a little more information and as soon as we have the production copies we'll add some actual photos of the game components. Ogre Castle should be ready for sale in June or July.

As for the short-runs of the our other games, Oubliette and Cube Rally should be completed by the end of 2009, Aztec Apocalypse will probably be early 2010, and it's too early to tell for Smart Dominos. We will get those dates added to the website so everyone knows.

Again, thanks for your time and feedback, it was VERY helpful.

Ordering

You don't say at your site that Ogre Castle is not available yet even though you can order it.

As a customer i would be angry to order the game to find out that i can't get it for months. I would most likely contact my credit card company once I found out and request my money back.

Ordering Removed

Dralius...Thanks for that important point. I just removed the ordering link. We had it up while testing the HTML code and neglected to take it down. It has now been removed.

BGDF is really the FIRST place we've posted our site link so all of this feedback is VERY helpful in fine tuning the web presence. Thank you!
