Quest Adventure Cards(tm): Version 2.0 will be EPIC!

Well this night around 2:00 AM in the morning - I got some amazing ideas about how "Quest Adventure Cards(tm)" (Quest) could become an EPIC story-telling game.

Although the game is only in an embryonic stage, the truth of the matter is that it is SHAPING up to being EPIC!!! I did not think that the game had any type of future... But it looks like it may.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Artwork is DONE!

Well the good news is that our Artist completed the LAST illustration which was the Box Bottom. It was finished today - and I am rather pleased with his futuristic rendition of a "Homeworld".

Unlike our own solar system/Galaxy where we believe that life is probable elsewhere - but we cannot locate planets that have the elements required by life (as we know it), the Terrans come from a Galaxy where there are various planets suitable for life...

Each one of those "Homeworlds" are a base of exploration for the "Exterras".

Tradewars - Homeworld: The PROOFING begins

Well today I received two (2) Game Sets which I will be using for multiple purposes:

A> I will proof all the cards for errors.
B> I will use these sets to play the game at a FLGS.

I am amazed how nice the "rulebook" turned out. I was very worried that the writing would be too small. But the thing that saves it is that it is Black on White. So there is very HIGH contrast even thought the writing is kind of "small-ish".

Tradewars - Homeworld: Father Geek Approved!

If anyone is interested in taking a read at Mr. Cirus Kirby's review (Aka Father Geek) of our game ("Tradewars - Homeworld").

Here is the link:

I will of course be updating "The Game Crafter" (TGC) website with the Accolade to help buyers feel more secure with their purchase: "They are buying a really good game..."

Lot's of positive feedback from all groups - and smart lessons learned about just how rewarding playing the game can actually be.

Cheers everyone!

Tradewars - Homeworld: Making games is costly

Here is a screen capture of my latest "The Game Crafter" (TGC) Order. A whooping $93.67 for two (2) Game Sets AT COST.

I have other plans for SELLING this game - because TGC is so pricey. I will of course maintain the game for sale via TGC (for online purchases) but I will be looking for other avenues to try and lower the cost to produce and resell the game.

Just wanted to show how pricey it can be!

Tradewars - Homeworld: Almost complete

As of the writing of this blog entry only four (4) more illustrations are missing to complete the game! Woohoo!!

It's amazing to have come so far from humble beginnings, to an early Art Score of 94%, to now almost completing all the cards in the game.

Because some card backs are used on multiple cards, there still is probably around a dozen or so cards remaining in the game that need to be completed. But in terms of illustrations/artwork, only four (4) remain.

Tradewars - Homeworld: General Release Edition

With everything that has been going on with "Tradewars - Homeworld", it took some time in figuring out what needed to get done.

This weekend I spent about eight (8) hours re-designing the cards to match the NEW "General Release" Edition. Since we have trimmed down the amount of artwork used by the game - we created "accidentally" two (2) additional options for new races. This was not a planned effect, it just seemed natural that we had about 1/3 the amount of cards to design, that we could eventually ADD two (2) additional races.

Tradewars - Homeworld: The *NEW* Races

So "Tradewars - Homeworld" is a game DESIGNED for "Expansion". Victory conditions are on scenario cards and the first edition of the game are the "Exterras".

The card distribution for the "Exterras" race is:

3x 1, 3x 2, 3x 3, 3x 4, and 3x 5 (Total 15 card per upgrade pile)

But I have been thinking about another card distribution:

1x 1, 2x 2, 3x 3, 4x 4, 5x 5! (Still 15 cards per upgrade pile)

This could be for *NEW* Races...!

Tradewars - Homeworld: New Direction

Tradewars - Homeworld: The "Golf" Crew

I have been thinking about all the effort and money being invested in the making of "Tradewars - Homeworld". We will have many pieces of very nice artwork for the game.

But it's not the amount of the original budget for the game.

I want to slow things down. And be more clear about the direction of the game. I had planned to release an "Art Bundle" in December 2016. This would mean that our artist would be busy with 5 more months of artwork...

Tradewars - Homeworld: The SURVEY

Since December 2016, I have been posting news about "Tradewars - Homeworld" (TWHW) on Facebook (FB). I was told to "build up a following of fans". But have read advice that even if you have a "bunch of fans" don't expect them to all become instantaneous "backers" of your crowdfunding efforts.

In the month of May, I plan to post up a LINK to a "Game Survey" about TWHW on FB. Now I have about 200+ likes and about 60+ FB friends of game. This is still small, but when I look at the POTENTIAL reach, it's 65,000 people!
