Down The Rabbit Hole, A Reflection on my Journey into Game Design, Part 1, The Delusion

Down The Rabbit Hole,
A Reflection on my Journey into Game Design, part 1,
The Delusion,

It's hard to believe that almost 12 months ago now i was scrolling through kickstarter while walking my dog that i thought. F*** me, some of this stuff has funded? How? I can make better games than this! The more i looked at different tabletop games the more inspired I got. I have since evolved as a designer (i like to think like a magicarp) but here is my story.

The die will either be a 1d4 or a custom d6 with sides of 1-2-2-3-3-4. Test copies are in the process of being sent out for review. Also, playtests continue with the hard-copy prototype instead of only a print and play.

The Game Crafter Makes 15 Different Types of Custom Playing Cards

The Game Crafter - Make 15 Different Types of Custom Playing Cards at The Game Crafter

The Game Crafter can make 15 different types of custom playing cards. All cards are die-cut, have rounded corners, and are printed in full color on both sides. All cards are printed on 12" x 18" sheets of 305gsm black-core card stock (as is used in popular trading card games like Magic: The Gathering), and this gives them a nice texture and good heft. Decks of cards can be any size and they are printed at our facility in Madison, Wisconsin.

Playtest Ready for Testing

Playtest 3

Ok so here's an update on one of the areas were developing to help promote the Chronicles of Ollundra brand and help get some support for the movie.

As some of you may know we have been developing a tabletop miniatures game to help promote the characters were creating in the game.

We now have our first set of characters miniatures and demo cards and are looking to test the rules of the game.

Its our intention to attract the attention of the board game and fantasy game community to our project as quite often these communities run hand in hand.

The Chronicles of Ollundra: Tactical Miniatures Game

HoO Logo small.jpg

Hi Guys,

My names Craig and I'm the owner and lead designer of Composite Games Limited.

So I've been looking at developing a miniatures based game set within my fantasy setting "The Chronicles of Ollundra" for a while.

And as were currently looking at filming a 5 minute short film to introduce some of the character we decided that a tabletop game would fit this really well.

This led to the creation of the Chronicles of Ollundra: Tactical Miniatures Game.

What is Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze?

Now you have found my blog I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself the question ‘ What is Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze?’
The simple answer is that it is a board game. The game is set in a mysterious hedge maze that grows and moves as it is explored. The maze also contains a rather angry Zombie Princess who is looking for lunch.

Can you find your key, navigate the maze and escape to freedom without being caught by the Zombie Princess?

- A game for 2 to 5 players

- Play time of 45 minutes to 1 hour

- Build and manipulate the maze as you play
