Superfoods

Just a smattering of game idea for a worker-placement genetic modification game I'm working on:

Players are trying to create a new superfood before the law bans research.
The game is won by putting enough DNA points into a superfood before the time runs out.

There are ten rounds to the game. There are 5 different superfoods you can put points into.
(BannaMeat, Tofruit, MangEat, RizAir, and OkrYum)
Different foods require different amounts of resources.

There is a deck of cards containing actions. It changes in size depending on how many players there are.
In this deck there are

Translating a fantasy skirmish into a sci fi skirmish game

So, I have developed a skirmish system permitting you to pit just very few fighters versus each other.
The mechanics are innovative, the theme is common fantasy.
You start by creating your Hero. Upon doing so your Hero gains access to one or more skills.
Creating the Hero and mixing skills is just half of the fun (with the other half being watching your Hero play his role on the battlefield).

This exactly is the main issue I'm running into trying to "paste" a sci-fi theme over the system:
It just is not as simple as that.

Blog1! Didnt even know this existed!

Currently attempting several games, the most recent being a game about throne succession in a large family. If anyone wants to reply to this feel quite free! Would love some fresh eyes.

It involves a multiplayer card game where all players take the role of a successor to a kingdom, each player uses agents to eventually ruin or kill their opponents.

Dark horizons game

Hi all,
This is my first blog I've ever done. Kind of exciting :)
I am currentlyworking on a coop game. Players are medieval warriors that have just awoken from a deep slumber to find that a dark menace has awoken. This dark menace has destroyed a once great kingdom that these knights used to guard. The game is scenario based, so you pick a scenario each game. As players complete scenarios, they will unlock new scenarios, new cards, and new ways to build on their characters.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Future Expansion

So I know there is a thread talking about "expansion" (http://www.bgdf.com/node/14336) and it directly related to "Tradewars - Homeworld". I want to *open* up the game's expansion capabilities by offering designers the opportunity to submit expansion games (to be published by my Publisher).

Game 6 & 7 a few weeks away

New game bags

Hi -If any of you have been following our indie sports dice (sim) games since we released the award winning Pocket Cricket in 2010 - we'll be releasing Pocket Rugby & Pocket Basketball in May.

This will bring our game total to 7 games + a handful of variation custom sets we've also made!

We've mostly focused on sports popular in Australia, but Pocket Basketball will be the first of 4 games aimed at the Nth American market with Ice Hockey, Baseball and American Football all ready to go....

Lawn Care Tycoon

So a theme that I thought of recently that might make an interesting card game is the lawn care business. The specific context I'm thinking of is a teenage kid running his own small lawn care business during summer break. The game elements would include equipment such as watering can, garden hose, hedge clippers, lawn mower, shovel, wheelbarrow, rake, trowel, etc. and customers who have different types of yard work they want done such as the flowers watered, hedges trimmed, lawn mowed, trees mulched, leaves raked, etc.

A mining game-working out the next idea

So I've been working on a tile-laying game idea that I had a while ago where the players are digging a mine in search of jewels. I've figured out an abstract way to find out how many jewels are in a *pocket* when it is tapped but I'm kind of stuck on where to go next. My original vision for the game involved uncovering pockets of jewels (check) and then the players deploying workers to collect them. Sort of a worker placement/pickup and deliver system. One idea is that the players would need to setup shelters in the mines before they can deploy their workers but that's about it.

Mystery Challenge Winner Announced!

Sinister has won the Mystery Challenge, just barely edging out Refuge. Congratulations to Mark “Shmitz” Major of Whirling Derby Games for winning his second contest at The Game Crafter.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Towards success

Well I have been re-thinking everything that I have been working on based on a professional opinion. Although my game may pass the Publisher's Blind Playtesting and they may like the game, my art budget may not be so well received... :(

So I decided to go back to the drawing board and try to devise new strategies to be able to produce "Tradewars - Homeworld". After taking a good look at my options, I have concluded that a Kickstarter for the game is possible...
